Have you taken advantage of the promotions and amazing discounts from CLC?
If you have been around our shop on St Giles Street or looked around our website regularly, you may be aware of the Take Note promotion and perhaps also the Kids Corner promotion, both of which from CLC; one of our favourite Christian wholesalers. You may also know of CLC if you have ever shopped in any of their own stores.
So, four times a year, we get the opportunity to try out some new titles and share some great discounts in the Take Note promotion. I also take some time to get the whole promotion onto this website so you can buy straight from your favourite site ;-) and send a link out on Facebook to all those lovely people who follow us there.
In addition to Take Note, CLC also enable us to try out lots of new children's books and media too, with the promotion Kids Corner three times a year. Unfortunately I never have the time to get all these on the website so we usually have to run this from the shop only.
So we have been running these for a while...why write a post about them now? Well, we are half way through the Take Note promotion (Issue#2 2018) and there are some great titles in there that have been proving very popular, like the latest Nick Vujicic title, Be the Hands and Feet, Tom Wright's Paul: A Biography, Pete Greig's Dirty Glory, or Jeff Lucas's Staying In The Boat. There's also a selection of Bibles and media; I have particularly enjoyed playing Samuel Lane's The Difference in the shop. I'm no musical connoisseur but it has been an enjoyable and refreshing change to all the Bethels and Hillsongs we often play. I've also been impressed by Acts: A Visual Guide; while I enjoy the craft that goes into well made infographics, it must have been a risk to produce something as different as this for the Christian market. I'm pleased to say it sold out in the first week of this issue of Take Note and we had to reorder.
Today though, I had the pleasure of checking in our Kids Corner stock. From some utterly charming picture books, to Bible stories presented in awesome comic book art, there are some really pleasing titles that I hope get to be soaked up by hungry young minds. I fell in love with the artwork in An Extraordinary Teacher and A Brave Big Sister by Rachel Spier Weaver & Anna Haggard, and again got my infographic itch, scratched with Bible Inforgraphics for Kids. I was so pleased to see titles like Case for Christ for Kids and Case for a Creator for Kids by Lee Strobel. His book The Case For Christ and the movie of the same name are both absolutely worth your time, but to see resources like this to equip young Christians is so exciting and encouraging. And I can't tell you about Kids Corner without pointing out one of the most impressive deals in the promotion: look for Bible Stories 5-Book Collection Bag. This is a collection of Bible-story picture-books presented in a charming tote bag depicting Noahs Ark. A collection that would normally set you back £30 has over £20 off and you can pick it up for just £9.99.
You can pick up the promotional catalogues free in the shop while they last or have a look at them below. Take Note books and media can be purchased in the shop or online while Kids Corner can only be purchased in the shop at this time. But you can also use our online enquiry form too for any title we don't list or have run out of.
Make a little time to take a look at what's on offer, and come back often to see what else we have in stock at the Manna House
